"RECOVERY Summit 2023" remains in the history of Mental Health

Responsible people, managers, experts and businesspeople met to discuss Mental Health
Between November 30th and December 2nd, the city of Barcelos was the stage for the "RECOVERY Summit – II International Congress RECOVERY Portugal 2023", which brought together the highest national and global officials and leaders, as well as experts and businesspeople, to discuss topics related to Mental Health in Portugal and the rest of the world.
The highest dignitaries from the World Federation for Mental Health, EUFAMI and the European Psychiatric Association were joined by senior officials from the entities that manage and coordinate mental health in Portugal and national and international experts and academics.
In the end, there was a widespread belief that this Congress was one of the best moments of debate on Mental Health in recent years, with speakers and participants leaving very satisfied, both at the masterclasses (on November 30th) and at the Congress (on December 1st and 2nd).
"RECOVERY" award attributed to the World Federation for Mental Health and the Municipality of Barcelos
After the end of all panels and subpanels, and even before the final speeches by the President of the Barcelos City Council, Mário Constantino Lopes, and the President of the Board of RECOVERY IPSS – as well as the Scientific and Organizing Committee of the Congress – Miguel Durães, and through his hands, two "RECOVERY" Awards were presented, the highest recognition given by this Institution, one to the World Federation of Mental Health and the other to the Municipality of Barcelos, for their contributions and dedication to the noble cause of Mental Health, as well as gratitude for the cooperation and collaboration they have had with RECOVERY IPSS.
Barcelos – 1st World Capital of Mental Health
In the pre-chamber of the opening of the Congress work, the Municipal Auditorium of Barcelos hosted the solemn ceremony of the officialization of the 1st World Capital of Mental Health, the city of Barcelos.
The Presidents of the Barcelos City Council, Mário Constantino Lopes, and of the World Federation for Mental Health, Tsuyoshi Akiyama, signed the Memorandum of Understanding that will serve as the legal basis for the 2023-2026 three-year period of validity of this distinction to Barcelos and Portugal, as well such as, for the elaboration, execution and evaluation of an Action Plan, to be coordinated by Miguel Durães, and which will contain the projects, applications and actions to be carried out within the scope of this which is the 1st World Capital of Mental Health in history of Human Rights and Mental Health worldwide.

Responsáveis, dirigentes, especialistas e empresários reuniram-se para debater a Saúde Mental
Entre 30 de novembro e 02 de dezembro, a cidade de Barcelos foi o palco para a realização do "RECOVERY Summit – II Congresso Internacional RECOVERY Portugal 2023", que reuniu os mais altos responsáveis e dirigentes nacionais e mundiais, assim como especialistas e empresários, para debaterem temas relacionados com a Saúde Mental em Portugal e no resto do Mundo.
Aos mais altos dignatários da Federação Mundial da Saúde Mental, da EUFAMI, da Associação Europeia de Psiquiatria, juntaram-se altos responsáveis das entidades que gerem e coordenam a saúde mental em Portugal e especialistas e académicos nacionais e internacionais.
No final, foi ideia generalizada de que este Congresso foi um dos melhores momentos de debate sobre a Saúde Mental dos últimos anos, com oradores e participantes a saírem bem satisfeitos, quer dos locais das masterclasses (a 30 de novembro), quer do do Congresso (a 01 e 02 de dezembro).
Galardão "RECOVERY" atribuído à Federação Mundial da Saúde Mental e Município de Barcelos
Após o término de todos os painéis e subpainéis, e ainda antes dos discursos finais do Presidente da Câmara Municipal de Barcelos, Mário Constantino Lopes, e do Presidente da Direção da RECOVERY IPSS – assim como da Comissão Científica e Organizadora do Congresso – Miguel Durães, e pelas mãos deste, foram entregues dois Galardões "RECOVERY", o mais alto reconhecimento atribuído por esta Instituição, um à Federação Mundial da Saúde Mental e outro ao Município de Barcelos, pelos contributos e dedicação à nobre causa da Saúde Mental, assim como agradecimento pela cooperação e colaboração que têm tido com a RECOVERY IPSS.
Barcelos – 1ª Capital Mundial da Saúde Mental
Na antecâmara da abertura dos trabalhos do Congresso, o Auditório Municipal de Barcelos recebeu a cerimónia solene da oficialização da 1ª Capital Mundial da Saúde Mental, a cidade de Barcelos.
Os Presidentes da Câmara Municipal de Barcelos, Mário Constantino Lopes, e da Federação Mundial da Saúde Mental, Tsuyoshi Akiyama, assinaram o Memorando de Entendimento que servirá de base legal para o triénio 2023-2026 de vigência desta distinção a Barcelos e a Portugal, assim como, para a elaboração, execução e avaliação de um Plano de Ação, a ser coordenado por Miguel Durães, e onde constarão os projetos, candidaturas e ações a serem levadas a cabo no âmbito desta que é a 1ª Capital Mundial da Saúde Mental da história dos Direitos Humanos e da Saúde Mental mundial.
