International Women’s Day 2024. Celebrations by the WFMH (Asia- Pacific)

International Women’s Day 2024 was celebrated by the World Federation for Mental Health (Asia- Pacific) at the Pushpagiri Institute of Medical Sciences, Kerala, India on March 8 in a grand manner. The theme this year was, "Invest in Women, Accelerate Progress".

WFMH Vice President (Asia Pacific) Dr Roy Kallivayalil delivered the keynote address and  honoured Prof Joice Geo (the first woman Secretary of Indian Psychiatric Society, Kerala State branch) for her outstanding contributions to mental health. Other eminent women leaders Dr Liza Varughese, Dr Neethu Cherian and Dr S Haritha spoke on the occasion. The speakers recalled the valuable services rendered by women to the society and especially to maintain strong family ties in Asia. The event was marked by housefull attendance and much interested participation.
