“I, Prof Dr Tsuyoshi Akiyama, WFMH president in September 2024, would like to clarify that I on 24 September 2024 in Singapore, and later (1 October 2024) in the presence of ministers and key government agencies, made a commitment in the context of the Second World Capital of Mental Health, which I made alone and without consulting the WFMH leadership. I regret this personal statement and have apologized in writing to the responsible parties.”
