Relevant Experience in Mental Health Advocacy, Education, and Awareness
I have dedicated a significant portion of my career to mental health advocacy, education, and awareness. As Co-Chair of the Universal Health Care Working Group within the Global Mental Health Action Network, I have actively contributed to global discussions and initiatives aimed at improving mental health care access and quality. My role as an NHS App Ambassador and member of various NHS digital and technology groups has allowed me to advocate for the integration of digital health solutions to enhance mental health services. Additionally, my involvement with the World Federation of Mental Health (WFMH) and other mental health-focused organizations has provided me with a platform to promote mental health awareness and education on a broader scale.
Interest in Serving on the Board of WFMH
My interest in serving on the Board of WFMH stems from a deep commitment to advancing mental health globally. I believe that my extensive experience in health informatics, governance, and strategic planning can contribute significantly to WFMH’s mission. Serving on the Board would allow me to leverage my skills and knowledge to support the organization's efforts in advocating for mental health, developing educational programs, and raising awareness about mental health issues. I am passionate about making a meaningful impact and believe that my background aligns well with the goals of the WFMH.

If elected to the Board, I intend to contribute to the functioning and betterment of WFMH in several areas:
- Digital Health Integration: Leveraging my expertise in health informatics to promote the adoption of digital health solutions within WFMH's programs and initiatives.
- Governance and Strategic Planning: Utilizing my experience in governance and strategic planning to support the development and implementation of effective policies and strategies.
- Advocacy and Awareness: Enhancing WFMH's advocacy efforts by promoting mental health awareness through various channels and platforms.
- Education and Training: Developing and supporting educational programs aimed at improving mental health literacy and training for mental health professionals.

There are no issues that would prevent me from being available for any of these meetings. I am dedicated to fulfilling my responsibilities as a Board member and will ensure that I am available for all scheduled meetings and communications.

I am keen to be considered for Corporate Secretary for the WFMH. My extensive background in health informatics, governance, and strategic planning, combined with my leadership roles in various mental health and healthcare organizations, positions me well to contribute effectively. As Co-Chair of the Universal Health Care Working Group and NHS App Ambassador, I have driven digital health initiatives and advocated for mental health improvements globally. My experience as a Lay Representative and Chair for NHS England and Health Education England underscores my commitment to fair and effective governance. I bring a unique blend of technical expertise, strategic vision, and a deep understanding of mental health challenges, making me an asset to the WFMH Board.
